Rebecca Nori Wattenschaidt

How many of us wish that we could earn a living doing what we really enjoy doing? Hollidaysburg native Rebecca Nori Wattenschaidt is doing just that.  When she was growing up, blogging wasn't a thing, let alone making money from it.

She began her blog in July 2012.  At the time, it was a just a hobby that was meant to document her outfits, while trying to keep from getting into that everyday, just tossing on comfy clothes ritual.  Then, she ended up doing her hair and make-up and things like that.

It eventually evolved into an actual business over the last several years and has groiwn more into a brand then just a blog or a hobby.

In May 2014, she opened a brick and mortar store in downtown York, PA, which she ended up closing in March of 2020.  This is mainly due to the fact that her on-line sales are significantly better than her in-store sales.  She will continue to grow her on-line presence.

Rebecca would even be considered a social media influencer.  She adds that blogger and influencer are a lot of time interchangeable.  She says, that it might not be that way for everyone, but as far as what she does and what she shares , it is.

Several years ago, she received a boost for her business on the national stage.  Every year, Redbook magazine, which is currently only digital, would have the Real Women Style Awards and they would do a national search  for your average woman that you would see at the grocery store or the school pick-up line that have style and is confident and everything.

To read Rebecca's complete interview, check out the upcoming book release They Came From Blair County due out by the end of the year.
